Easter 2011

Patrick enjoying Easter with his family. Lots of his family is in the truck while he watches from the front. We throw Easter eggs down a big hill and he got his share in. We had a blast. As you can see there were plenty of eggs filled with treasures to find.

SATURDAY BUSINESS by Patrick and Dallin Paul's dad

From the time all my children were small I have had the tradition of taking them on "Saturday Business" which means that we load up in some vehicle (for some reason I like to take an old Ford pickup of which I have had many) and we go to "town" for treats. When we lived in Idaho the nearest store was about 8 or 9 miles away and it was a c-store called Will-O-Way. It has since been torn down.

You can guess this could be a pretty expensive venture because I am spineless when it comes to saying "no". Now most of the kids are off on their own but Patrick, Dallin Paul, sometimes their Mom and I still go on "Saturday Business" except we do it several times a week. Fortunately my grand children have offered me a chance to carry on the tradition.

When we first moved to Logan over 9 years ago we had a hard time finding a good c-store but we finally found it. It is called "Mooches" on Main and Fourth North. Some might say that all c-stores are alike but that is not true. We love Mooches. The primary reason is that they really treat us well and make a fuss over Patrick and Dallin Paul. If I go in alone they ask where the "boys" are. At times I have taken several grand children in with Patrick and Dallin Paul.

Here are a couple of pictures. First is Patrick and Paul with Mooch or as they call him "Mr. Mooch". If he is there he always stops and asks for hugs which they love to give. Dallin Paul usually won't hug people unless he really likes them; Mooch is on the top of his list and it's just not because of the treats. The second pic is with several of the family; that day we had two car loads of kids, in-laws and grand children. Thanks Mooches.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK

Happy Birthday Patrick on August fifth. This is from your whole family; we love you very much.

Patrick and his sisters and his niece Ava at our property on a river in Idaho. He has this problem; women just can't stay away from him.

He will soon be 32 yrs old and not too long ago he mentioned he was too young to get married and thought he would wait a few years.

Dallin Paul's surgery

Paul had to have surgery on his ear in June of 2009, He had a growth in his ear that had caused a lot of damage, including destroying some of his inner ear bones. They had to cut his ear lose and bore a hole in his skull to get to the problem.

NOT ALWAYS A BED OF ROSES

Today Dallin Paul had to have a tooth removed and some caps put on his teeth. In order to do this they had to put him out for a bit at the hospital. His Mom got up early with him and took him to the hospital. The hard part was getting the IV in him. He fought it for a long time and it took seven people to hold him down and get it in. Once they got him out though everything went well. The first pic is of him getting wheeled out of the hospital and the second is of him in the recovery room. We are glad it all turned out. His Dad was there when he woke up and his sister Cathrine spent a lot of time with him and took him to Wal Mart and to eat after. He has the best brothers and sisters...

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND

Dallin seldom looks directly at the camera but he cooperated on Thanksgiving day. This was at dinner with some of his family...



We drove up the the Festival of the Lights at Preston, Idaho. The best light show was the beautiful sunset we caught while driving past where Patrick and Paul's Mom grew up in Fairview, Idaho

We drove out to the Hollingsworth farm to see their beautiful display. There house is in the center of this and it covered several acres. This is the last year they are going to do it so a big thank you to the Hollingsworths..

Dallin Paul went to church on Sunday. In the LDS Church you are expected to dress up but we are just glad to get Dallin there. This is him and his nephew Owen out in the foyer; they are the best of friends and shared this moment together. Of course after one hour of church Dallin had to go to Wendy's for his reward. His brother Patrick and his Dad joined him; a good time was had by all.

BASKETBALL CHAMP

This past Saturday Patrick played in Utah Special Olympic games and he played basketball. He was such a star and made some great shots and points. The first picture is very fuzzy; it was taken on a cell phone but it of Patrick making a shot that went in. The second is of him with his bronze medal; they were beat by one point at the buzzer. HIS FAMILY IS SO PROUD OF HIM AND LOVES HIM....

Young Warriors

Here is a picture of Dallin Paul with his nephew Michael and a couple of guys that are into preserving ancient sword fighting. They had been fighting with them earlier and really liked it.
